Ellon Castle Gardens is run and maintained by a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers for the benefit of the community. If you’d like to become a volunteer, please complete the VOLUNTEER FORM and email it to info@elloncastlegardens.net.

Gardening Volunteers

Our gardening sessions are on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday mornings all year round, with a break over Christmas and New Year. No experience is necessary for many of the basic gardening jobs like weeding and tidying; you will work alongside other volunteers who will be happy to keep you right. For those who are interested, on-the-job training can be provided for some of the more specialised tasks like pruning the heritage apple trees.

Gate Volunteers

We are always looking for more volunteers to welcome visitors to the Gardens and collect entry fees at the gate. The more gate volunteers we have, the more days the Gardens can be open to visitors. This role would suit anyone who’s good with people and willing to learn a little about the Gardens. You will get to know our regular visitors and meet tourists from around the world.
